Acer's Aspire One series net books were among the first to be available in the Indian market. However, with growing competition, Acerneeded to revamp their existing line-up. With the D250, Acer has slimmed down their net books into a lighter avatar. The netbook hasn't undergone too many design changes other than the incorporated slimness. It has the same size keyboard as its predecessor, which is comfortable to use, but could have been improved further. The trackpad is very responsive and easy to work with.
However, the size of the trackpad should have been increased. The 10.1" display is good to work on or even watch movies. The netbook has a 3 USB ports, Ethernet, card reader, audio and D-sub out ports placed neatly on the sides. As far as specs go, you get the standard 1 .6Ghz Intel Atom N270 processor, 1 GB DDR2 RAM, a 160GB hard drive and Intel GMA 945 chipset. It comes preinstalled with Windows XP Home edition and has a display resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels. In our standard benchmarks, the Netbook scored 1536PC Marks in PCMark 05 and in batterymark, it gave a backup of 5 hours and 45 minutes. The sound from the speakers is good enough for personal listening only. The D250 is a great product; it doesn't beat the Asus Seashell in terms of looks, but comes a close second and that too at a lower price.
