If one includes the shelves in thesales figures of PC laptops, Apple would have to position itself asnumber one sector to HP in 2012. Some institutes of analysis asCanalys are tempted to include shelves in the sales figures oflaptops.Taking this hypothesis, Apple would have a strong chance tobecome the largest seller in the sector in 2012, and before the HP.
Apple should indeed sell 40 millioniPad this year, 60% of the market shelves, and 60 million units in2012.At that time, analysts predict that the firm to deliver 15million Apple MacBooks.By adding the two, we get 75 million units, representing 25% in 2012 to 30% of the market.
In terms of HP, the American brandshould sell between 45 and 50 million laptops in 2011.Even adding thesales of its hoped-Touchpad Tablet, it is unlikely for most marketobservers that it manages to sell as many shelves and Apple laptopsin 2012.
For some, however, due to growth insales of mobile computers, HP would need to sell 15 million tabletsin 2012 to move to Apple, an achievable goal as long as the Touchpadseduce. Still, if one takes into account as laptops, as was the caseso far, Hewlett-Packard would then in all cases well ahead of Applein terms of sales in 2012.
