So far the only thing I have read about it seems more about Parallels (for me) is that it shows a real task bar and the Windows XP Start button. As a lifelong PC user, I'd really like to see this merger as well ... but apparently Fusion uses a list instead.

If you use the setup a Boot Camp Windows partition, you can boot right into Windows without starting Mac OSX. However, as mentioned earlier in this thread and the links of Sam, you have Parallels / Fusion to create a virtual machine session of Boot Camp Windows within Mac OS X too. You get the best of both worlds!

Well, the question: Say you're using our Mac, and decided to launch a Windows program. What is the process?

Can we simply double-click the program icon, which in turn launched VMware and the Windows program?

That's a good question. The ideal solution would be for the fusion / Parallels to have a link from Mac OS X that initiates the guest operating system, and instruments installed in the guest OS immediately launch the application. This is one of the first things I want to try...

Normally, what to do is open up VMware Fusion, which allows the load, and then open the application you want. But there is also a feature that Windows applications can be dragged into the Dock and launch from there. You still have to open despite VMware.

I was using Parallels, and double-click a file. Wmv and parallels are detected. I was asked to turn a "file sharing" or something and after clicking OK, it was played in WMP laucha windows and copies the file in the Windows virtual hard disk.

Hmmm ... any way to link them together? Therefore, the launch of the application will start automatically VMW first, and then launch the application?

That's what happens. If you have a Windows application in the Dock, click the Windows application and opens there. VMware launched in the background.

I'm thinking of getting one, but they are expensive and some of the comments they paint a less than promising picture about them.
