Ducati is back to its dissolute best with the exotic, reassuringly luxurious new 1098R. Built on a partial number so that the Italian company can race WSB, the 1098R is the basis of their F08 factory racer. In fact, never has the road bike and the racer been so close, thanks to ever more stringent standards in the World Championship.
Engine:
What a masterpiece! Compared with 1098, the engine is lighter, stronger and has a larger diameter and stroke, having the ability to 1198.4cc, bang on the limit for WSB double cylinder machines. Peak power is 180bhp, which rises to 186bhp with the carbon fiber and the career of racing fitted Termis ECU (supplied).
Equipment:
Loaded with all the usual benefits you expect from a limited edition Ducati, the 1098R includes a belly pan carbon infils tank and front mudguard. There Ohlins suspension and steering damper, Marchesini forged aluminum wheels, a single-sided swingarm, aboard a data logging system, MotoGP replica dash ... the list goes on.
