The famous Italian motorcycle company Ducati launched information on the 2011 848EVO, the newest version of its famous lightweight Superbike that will be launched late July 2010.
For 2011, the 848 features N "EVO" treatment to its well-liked Testastretta engine and chassis this influential L-Twin engine is up 6 horsepower to 140 and has 72.3 lb-ft torque, and is installed in light 168 kg chassis, one that's been established itself over and over on the 848 as its introduction in 2008.
The novel 848EVO is powered by a liquid-cooled, L-Twin, Desmodromic engine that generates 140hp at10,500rpm and a high-accelerating 72.3lb-ft of torque at 9,750rpm. The 94mm x 61.2mm bore and stroke exhale through 4 valves per cylinder fed by completely revised cove port shapes and racing-style oval throttle bodies, which are now enlarged in size from an equal diameter of 56mm to 60mm.
Electronically injected and ignited by Marelli, the super-efficient power element then exhausts during a lightweight 2-1-2 system set with a catalytic converter and up-rated to double lambda probes for smooth mapping and Euro3 conventionality. Terminating in Ducati's trademark double under-seat silencers, the system delivers that unique signature sound of the Desmo 90° L-Twin.
