Annually gather readers of Germanmagazine Auto Bild and Bild am Sonntag. Accompanied by renownedexperts, from 15 countries, they select the most significant cars andassign rewards. The process is regularly suspected of chauvinism, butforeign manufacturers always welcome (even more so, perhaps!) To beawarded a "Golden Volan".
This year, Mercedes-Benz receives a"Golden Steering Wheel" for each of its two majorinnovations: the new M-Class and SLK. Not jealous. The all new BMW 1Series and Audi A6 are entitled to equal respect. And PSA PeugeotCitroen awarded the "Environment Award" for its dual powerdiesel engine.
The award was presented to Jean-MarcGales, Managing Director of Peugeot and Citroen, during a galaevening on November 9. On this occasion, Jean-Marc Gales said: "Weare very proud to receive this award for the second consecutive year, after the consecration of our electric car, the Peugeot i0n in 2010.The new steering wheel confirms the Green leadership history of PSAPeugeot Citroen in technologies to reduce CO2 emissions. I amconvinced that the diesel hybrid HYbrid4 will quickly become theindustry standard, as were before him the HDi engine, the particulatefilter or our Stop & Start technology eHDi launched last year."
