The 599 is a monster in GT5, its raw power devouring the straights of the Eiger stage like a raptor with a craving for tarmac. It demands careful and considerate handling through the tight sections its sheer size can prove something of a handicap. A mistimed twitch on the right pedal is all that's required to light up the rear tyres at the wrong moment and plot your course to Game-Oversby-on-Sea.

At least you can laugh when you stuff it into a barrier in the game. That's not something you can bear to think about with the real thing, but the thrill of driving a real Ferrari more than compensates, especially if it's the latest 599. No game can really capture the experience of piloting a car that can scale the heights of 320kmph with ease while removing the blood from your eye sockets through sheer, animalistic acceleration. It's sheer excitement and raw fear in equal measures, wrapped up in a sexy Italian body.

However, with GTs you can master cars that behave uncannily like their real-world counterparts. Skills and experiences gained here really will transfer into the real world ... and unlike the real thing it won't cost you an arm and a leg, or cause you to soil your smalls.
