Maruti Suzuki Swift A long with the A-Star aimed at the small car segment, Maruti will offer the Splash in the premium hatchback segment. The Maruti Suzuki Swift is among the largest selling cars in India since its launch three years ago and the Splash seems to be hinting at similar success.
The Splash with its simple design probably won't appeal much to the youth who had loved the sporty looks of the Swift. The car is largely aimed towards the family utility segment. It will be equipped with Maruti's new I.2-litre K-series engine. We can also expect the 1.3-litre Multijet engine, which powers the Maruti Swift, as an option for the Splash.
The Splash will make it to India and its expected cost will be in the range of the Swift. The sales of the Swift may take a hit when the Splash debuts, nonetheless, Maruti will be a dominant force in the premium hatchback segment with both these cars combined.
