The i20 test mule has been making a lot of news ever since the formidable success of the Hyundai i10 within and outside India. The supermini is set to be unveiled in all its glory in this year at the Paris Motor Show and will go on sale by early. While the car will replace the Getz worldwide, we speculate the i20 to be sold alongside the Getz Prime in the country.

The i20's base model will get the 1.2-litre, 80PS Kappa engine which recently debuted on the i10. Bigger variants will come in the form of a tweaked 1.4-litre engine which currently powers the Getz in the UK market. A los-litre CRDi oil burner will also be an option a boon for India in the wake of rising petrol prices. The car will compete with the Fabia and will be similarly priced. Hyundai's strong dealership network and healthy aftersales service will prove to be a worthy incentive.
