Volvo's 580 comes with a 4.4-litre V8 engine and 31 5bhp. There is also, however, a smaller 3.2-litre V6 available as well as a diesel. Volvo is known to make the safest cars in the world and at one time enjoyed quite a reputation for well-built cars. It 'is trying to recreate the magic with the current line-up, which includes this and the XC90 5UV. Very well specified, including a Dynaudio sound system and Bluetooth integration. The 580 has fantastic ride quality and the suspension soaks up potholed roads quite well.
