The BMW 3 Series has for a while held the position of the most widely sold premium saloon in the world. Now the 3 sets out to extend its lead with a new face lift. Specific design modifications, refined interior design, new generation iDrive, new services provided by BMW Connected Drive, a revised range of engines and innovations in the areas of drive technology, safety and comfort make the new 3 Series more attractive.
New features in the powertrain include the further optimised electronically controlled BMW xDrive all-wheel drive system. This intelligent all-wheel drive system which variably distributes the drive force between front and rear wheels to enhance driving dynamics as well as ride stability and traction can now be combined with five engine types. The 2008 3 Series is part of a generation of cars that BMW redesigned in, adding cleaner lines and more powerful engines. In fact the revisions pick on themes seen on the new fifth generation 7 -series. The 3 Series also features a development of the iDrive that includes four selection buttons to reduce complexity of operation and there's a new, larger colour monitor. ConnectDrive technology also provides in-car internet access.
