Thread: Fiat Palio 1.6

The Palio 1.6 was a hero of a car and we expected more of the same from this face-lifted, re-launched version. The powerful motor with its strong midrange and top end didn't disappoint. The max speed N arain got on the track was comparable to the Fiesta and SX4 despite the fact that it carried less speed onto the straight, and the motor always felt strong.



The long-throw gearbox isn't the best though. And with the new Palio 1.6's suspension having been raised excessively, the car almost looks like it has been jacked up; this means there is a lot of body roll, inside wheelspin and a general lack of grip. It also doesn't help that the tyres are far from the best around and the brakes are very grabby and difficult to modulate.
