Honda's affordable hybrid will come in the form of the 2nd generation Insight slated to begin commercial production. Honda has promised that the Insight will be priced significantly lower than any other hybrid car in the market. In fact it is expected be priced about 10 per cent lower than the current Civic Hybrid and even the Toyota Prius, in line with Honda's aim of popularising environment friendly technology. The company is aiming to sell 2,00,000 units of the Insight annually.

That might not be such a tall order considering that the design of the Insight is reminiscent of the FCX Clarity and sports a new and improved version of Honda's IMA hybrid drive mated to a lA-litre iVTEC. Expect C02 emissions in the region of 80gm/km and a extremely fuel efficient performance. Honda will be displaying this concept at the Paris Motor Show.
