The Cadillac XLR developed from the Cadillac Evoq, a concept vehicle with a tailored design introduced at the 1999 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit. The two-door, two passenger luxury convertible was then introduced at the NAIAS in 2003, and has been produced since 2004 by General Motors Corporation. The 2007 XLR delivers a powerful yet comfortable ride with a 320 horsepower 4.6L Northstar V8 engine, complemented with six-speed automatic transmission. It also employs the Y-body platform on 10-inch alloy wheels. The XLR also offers comfort with a host of features including a power-retractable aluminum hardtop; heated and cooled leather seats; wood interior trim; side airbags, and seven-inch dashboard screen displaying navigation.
