The German variation of General Motors, Opel, has by now launched a green edition of their popular four door Insignia model exhausting the ecoFLEX badge, but that was it. Well now there is good news for fans of ecologically sociable wagons and estates, because Opel has just publicized that their ecoFLEX Insignia will soon be obtainable as a Sports Tourer.

The green five doors are motorized by a 2.0 Liter CDTI engine with the Clean Tech System creating 160 HP and an inspiring 280 lb-ft of torque. The fuel competent diesel blazing drive train is compliment by a six speed manual transmission, whole with a higher final drive to permit highway cruising at lower engine speeds. The effect is a Sports Tourer that can leave from 0 to 60 MPH in 9.9 seconds and hit a top speed of 133.5 MPH, if those numbers don’t appear too inspiring, than believe the vehicle’s fuel mileage of 44 MPG.
