The Japanese all wheel drive automaker, Subaru, has just exposed their biggest surprise for the future Tokyo Motor Show, a Hybrid Tourer Concept. The gas/electric car of the future attributes a pair of outsized gullwing doors and is motorized by a hybrid drivetrain that centers around a 2.0 Liter straight opposed direct gasoline injection turbocharged engine mutual with two secondary electric motors, one placed at each axle to continue Subaru’s all wheel drive philosophy motorized by a high presentation lithium ion battery pack.

The gas burning boxer power plant is comrades to the automotive arm of Fuji Heavy Industry’s symmetrical all wheel drive system and the automaker’s newest power train invention, a next generation incessantly variable transmission that Subaru calls a Lineatronic CVT.
