Sony's Playstation 2 is the most victorious console of all time with enormous sales all around the globe. In 2005 there was a main hardware amendment to the Playstation 2 that made the device much lesser, but also removed compatibility with the HDD. Launched in 2000 the PS2 has seen one of the major varieties of games launched attractive to everyone from the most hardcore niche audiences to the prolonged casual audience that the Wii has taken over. The console persists to see new game launches in 2009 though the rate has reduced compared to its prime.
