Thread: Vista self-destructs the webcam settings on XPS 1330?

I bought a new HD and reinstall everything. So far so good. I always view "self destructs" when installing some drivers. AFAIK always kills itself when I install the WebCam Driver. I can install and use the webcam, but as soon as you reboot everything goes to hell. * You can be the same with some updates for Vista. But frankly, reinstalled Vista after six times I do not have the patience to try. Now I have 57 "major" changes that could / should be installed, but I do not dare to change a running system.

You can back up the unit (an image) and then install the updates 1 at a time. Reboot after each update, even if not prompted. If the dice at least you'll have your backup.

Well, thanks. I was hoping it might somehow escape the installation of 57 updates and reboot every time...
