The design of the front of the bay is also slightly different to the design of the DVD. I pasted a little when it connects to the bay (it is estimated that about 4 mm). But that's not very important to me, too.
I wouldn’t Dell e6400 resume from the caddy (which was wintering with the hard drive into the bay from the main unit), but not cold boot without a hard drive of the main slot.
I want to ask you something that is there any way possible retrofitting of Dell with the value of the part of Lenovo?
I just purchased the module for Lenovo ebay and installed it on my Dell Latitudea M4400 with a hard drive WD 250 GB instead of DVD-RW. Which doubled my storage capacity?
In my case there is no problem with speed. I have the same speed when using the HDD in the bay (about 55 MB / s) and the normal caddy.
Just a thought: What disk transfer mode is set in the BIOS? IRRT, AHCI or ATA? ATA could create performance limitations when using multiple hard drives.
I just checked the speed on the bay with my new Intel SSD X25-M. I got a 275 MB / S in the bay! So definitely there are no limitations when using the hdd bay. You SATAII full speed!
Hello,all
Does anyone know if this works on a Dell M6400? That will make the Dell M6400 has 3 hard drives.
Yes, it's a ignominy. Nonetheless, the modular bay is the self in all Hollow E6400/Dell E6500 Line and Holler Precision Hollow M2400/Dell M4400 and exclusive offers a 1.8 "HDD bay (with a 4200rpm HDD), but no 2.5" bay.
