Hi,everyone
I have also tested the speed and can reach full speed SATAII transfer (in my case 286 Mbytes / s). So this is also an option to use an SSD in your laptop.

On a side note, just checked my Dell m15x for Smart Bay optical drive, and has the connector on the other side. Shame...
Probably a silly question, but why people do not buy the modular bay adapter for Dell machine?
Usually the designs are different, but both Dell and Lenovo, of course, the objective of minimum size and cost of leave any adapters between the optical drive standard of the unit and the bay.
I do not think many users want the limited capacity and performance that come free with the 1.8 "HDD in a unit of Dell.
There is no mechanism of coupling in the bay. But I am able to share the bay with the nail of a finger. Perhaps you can use the coupling mechanism in the DVD-dell bay and attach it to the hdd?
You're kidding. The case is that the Latitude and Precision? That is ridiculous for a team working class.
Yes, it's a shame. However, the modular bay is the same in all Dell E6400/Dell E6500 Latitude and Dell Precision Dell M2400/Dell M4400 and only offers a 1.8 "HDD bay (with a 4200rpm HDD), but no 2.5" bay.
The thing is that it really makes no sense to try to RAID 0, with data divided into two disks, when a hard drive is removable.
Except I did not remove the second hard drive bay and use a USB DVD drive for the rare times I need to. For my applications I personally prefer the speed, which is a RAID 0 of two fast SSDs.
