Although externally it appears rather same to its predecessor, the Sony has created rather some interior alters that are desirable of note. Its 16.1-megapixel EXMOR APS-C sensor is a slight upgrade of the NEX-5's 14.2 megapixels, but the news is the sensor's novel electronic first-curtain exposure mechanism, permitting the NEX-5N to realize a pre-focus lag time of just 0.02 second.


The novel sensor and Bionz processor even permit capture of Full HD video at 60p. A novel touchscreen adds some functions, but doesn't function to substitute any existing functions. The NEX-5N is as well the 1st NEX -- or squeeze system camera for that subject -- to achieve 10 frames per second at complete result.


The front of the NEX-5N is as well a small variant, with a slight bevel behind the lens, where the company and Alpha logos now live. "5N" is as well stumped within the front end of the clasp following to the close button.
