Nikon's professional workhorse digital SLR camera acquire more as compared to a single-digit upgrade to its model number in the novel D4. Although encased in a body of same size and shape to its predecessors, the Nikon D4 today uses a 16.2-megapixel full-frame CMOS sensor reared up by a novel EXPEED 3 image processor. Nikon wishes the combination to deliver extreme high dynamic range and low noise across a broad range of ISO settings.

Predominantly eliminating the requirement for a flashlight in low-light cases, many of the Nikon D4's buttons are illuminated; amazing idea for a high-end camera whose key characteristic is excellent functioning in low light. Surely, when standard ISO settings range from 100 to 12,800, that can be extended to 50 on the low end and 204,800 on the high slope. Fairly impressive.

Other novel items on the Nikon D4 have a 3.2-inch LCD with VGA result, the capability to enlarge images up to 46x, and an ambient light sensor to automatically brighten or dim the display depended upon lighting conditions. The 51-point AF array improves sensitivity to -2 EV, and can accommodate lenses up to f/8. Video is even advanced from the D3S's 720p to 1080p at 30fps. There's a complete lot more to the Nikon D4, which we will cover in the Technical segment under.

Almost the similar size as the D3S, the Nikon D4 is simply a fraction of an inch littler, determining 6.3 x 6.2 x 3.6 inches, and it weighs 47.3 ounces body-just on battery and XQD memory card. Overall look in the hand is similar to the D3S, but there are many cosmetic and ergonomic deviations to the Nikon D4 desirable of note.

We won't go above each contour line that's altered, because almost each one has altered, at least on the front. Overall, the Nikon D4's body itself is more outlined, with smaller flat surfaces; however, most items are placed similarly plenty that seasoned D3S users will yet feel at home.

Although they've changed to small, the monophonic microphone, Self-timer lamp, Function button, deepness of Field preview button, and lens release buttons are in the same positions with the Nikon D4. The AF switch has altered a bit, although. The old CSM arrangement departs in favor of the D7000's AF switch. A 2-position collar switch choices between AF and MF, and the button in the middle works in coincidence on the Nikon D4's rear Command dial to adjust AF way and AF area.
