The release of the OM-D E-M5 does notactually arrived like a surprise with hints arriving directly fromOlympus via their recent less as compared to subtle advertisingcampaign. The first of the OM-D scope of cameras is now here andtakes on it a novel product scope for Olympus, sitting among the PENand E series DSLR cameras.

First in a novel scope, the E-M5 ispart of the novel OM-D line-up which brings its plan directly fromthe traditional OM camera. The plan is a reflection of Olympuscameras past, and dissimilar the retro-esque fashioning of the PENand many other compact system cameras, mixing traditional on modern, the E-M5 is a straightforward kick rear to the 70s.

At its heart is the novel 16 millionpixel Live MOS Sensor and TruePic VI image processor, which Olympusclaims will afford better low light performance and a higher dynamicscope.

On the camera being a step-up from thePEN range you would want to watch boasts that will appeal to moreserious photographers, and in this respect Olympus does appear tohave crammed a good amount of impressive specifications into thecompress frame.

A number of boasts have been reworkedfor the E-M5, having the image stabilization system, which now has a5 axis system that combats body shake for vertical, horizontal, pitch, rolling and yaw. This novel system is said to assisthold the image sharp across the frame instead of only in the centreas many IS systems are capable of at the moment. We will have to waitfor the review samples to test this novel system entirely.

A characteristic that will appeal toserious photographer is the novel dust and splash proof magnesiumalloy body that Olympus has constructed to have the same all weatherproofing like its top of the scope E-5. This dust and splash proofingis even carried above to the detachable flash that is bundled up withthe camera as well as the novel 12-50mm, 75mm and 60mm lenses and thenovel battery grip.

At launch there will even be a someextra accessories. First up, the power battery holder HLD-6 thatsuits to the bottom of the camera makes a larger clasp and have ashutter button and dials.
