They are sleek,elegant and performed admirable. These ultra-compact are the main trendsetters in the market these days. The Sony DSC W120 is one of the best available these days. The 7.2MP sensor may look weak but once you fire it up, there is a good chance that you will change your mind. The 4x optical zoom ensures that wider 32mm lens ( at wide, in 35mm film terms) does not become a handicap when trying to shoot farther objects. The 2.5inch-LCD Viewfinder provided enough visibility under sunlight. It is quick to focus both on near as well as far objects. Its flash is powerful enough to produce perfectly acceptable results in low-light while it produced superior images outdoors. Video-capturing at VGA resolution at 30 fps is satisfactory.
The simple navigation process did not take time to master either. Its metallic finish body is not the smallest but is easily pocketable. High on ergonomics and performance, with just the right amount of features and at affordable price, it's a steal. The Canon IXUS 80 IS is another good option. Its 8MP camera, 3X optical zoom and Image stabilization that enabled it to capture excellent images but priced higher than the Sony. And the Samsung L100 is the cheapest 8MP camera which produced a well balanced color not to mention its superior low light performance.
