Ricoh has snuck a new camera onto its international site - the Calico RR770. A 7.1 mega pixel sensor is served by a 34-102mm (35mm equiv.) lens and consequences may be viewed on a 3.0" 230k pixel LCD. Image storage is taken care of by SD cards or the 32MB internal memory - best kept as a last resort - and the camera accepts standard AA batteries for easy substitute where you may be. So okay, the specifications aren't going to set the world aflame but it looks like a solid little camera for younger member of the family or glove box duty. Prices and ease of use are to be announced.
You can add the new Ricoh Calico RR730 Digital Camera to your shopping list this month. The RR730 is a very compacted little device with size only 3.5 inch x 2.4 inch x 1 inch. First of all, you should know that it has 7.1 MP, which gives you the best of details and the liveliest of colors. You can enlarge your photos to A4 size (21 cm x 30 cm) with no loss of feature. Its optical 3x zoom is about to give the best close-up shots, and an extra zoom makes it up to 12x zoom. The camera is also USB connectable and has video output functionality, so it can see your photos from your TV or laptop. All this comes with 32 MB of storage space space, so you should have abundance of space for your pictures. And if 32 MB isn’t enough for you, then you can simply purchase an SD Memory Card for even more space. Its Macro mode can capture outstanding details of life, in other words, you can capture the complicated beauty of a small thing from as little as a few inches away. Moreover, you can also capture video with the resolution of 320 x 240.
The Ricoh Calico RR730 will be hit the market later this year with a price tag of US8. Sadly, the camera is not rechargeable, and relies on its power from 2 AA batteries.
