The elder sibling of the 116, the L18 is obviously an upgrade from the 116. Featuring a large 3in LCD, this 8-megapixel camera features 3 x optical zoom. The boot up time of this camera is great. You are ready for the first shot within a second. The L18 comes with 23MB of internal memory and a slot to accept SD cards as additional storage. It is roughly the same size of the 116. The buttons and their placement are precisely same as found in the L16. The 3in LCD is sharp, bright and most importantly large. We were not satisfied with the build quality of this one.

The camera features an Anti-Shake function. The camera lacks some manual controls but is pretty simple to use. The L18 features Face-Recognition technology, although it isn't highlighted on the camera. It's almost active in all the shots. Both the L16 and L181ack optical image stabilisation, instead they use the fool-proof method of reducing blurry images by boosting the ISO and shutter speed when a motion is detected.

The image quality of 118's was good. Some real-life pictures lacked sharpness and loss of colours. However, outdoor and action shots were sharp and well exposed, with excellent color. The L18 video recording capability is good. You can record videos in VGA mode at 640 x 480 resolutions at a full 30 fps, and 320 x 240 at either 30 fps or 15 fps. The 118 is a fun to use type of camera. At the end of the day if you are looking to invest in a digital camera that can take good pictures and videos without too much fuss on controls, the 118 will surely not disappoint you.
