Cyber-Shot DSC-T70 slaps 3-inch touch screen on the back of Slim, stylish camera body that houses 8.1-megapixel CCD image sensor and 3x optical, 38 mm-114mm f/3.5-f/4.3 Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar zoom lens with optical image stabilization. When you have such small camera body, there is not much you can do in design, but Sony has been able to develop T-Series Design preserving the line of sleek, elegant look. T70 sports a much thinner sliding lens cover than the T50 did, though it still feels solid and, as in previous models, features an on / off, although it may be disabled in the menu if you do not want it to.

Touch screen does not leave much room for hard buttons, and, indeed, the only button on the camera are at the top; power and playback buttons sit to the left of the shutter, while side to side scaling slider to the right on the button lowering the shutter. This is not just a tiny zoom slider, but its placement makes it prone to accidental nudges, which can ruin your design as soon as you're willing to press the shutter. Sony, probably should have tried to increase the Fit rocker on the back, just above the right-hand corner, or at least raise the bar on the left side of the shutter to help prevent accidents, although I would not want them to move the shutter release button shutter too far right, either. The layout and overall organization of the touch-screen control and menus are not bad. Sony uses the corners to give you access to deeper menus, while icons to the side allows you to change commonly used settings such as exposure compensation, metering, focus, or sensitivity (ISO ASA). I was a bit miffed to find a white balance that is at the shooting menu even has room for it on the right side of the screen. Despite a nice design, touch screen, does not do a very nice interface.
