When every second gadget is sporting a touchscreen, how can cameras are left behind? To give their cameras an edge over others and to add a fresh appeal, camera manufacturers are giving them touchscreen displays. The Canon IXUS 210 is one such. This point-and-shooter is a significant upgrade to the IXUS 200.
It sports a bigger 3.5-inch touchŽscreen and is in every way better than its predecessor-looks (comes in several vibrant colours), features and performance. It boasts a 14.1 MP sensor, 5x optical zoom and HD video recordŽing capability. The image quality we got was acceptable for a point and shoot and even at full zoom; the image retains its sharpness. With only slight noise visible.
Coming back to the touchscreen and interface, the design is miniŽmalistic-only the shutter release and power button are on the panel. The rest are managed on the magnificent touchscreen. This camera has got everything from the easy to use Automatic mode to the more sophisticated Program mode. Other modes include kids and pets-including pet face recognition-fish eye, smile shutter and wink mode. A 4GB memory card comes as part of the package.
