LEDs take flight in early 2011. In the first televisions, but also in PC monitors. All manufacturers now have at least one model of PC screen with an LED backlight. These monitors are thinner, lighter and consume less energy especially. They also promise better contrast ratio with deeper blacks and more homogeneous. But LG goes further, equipping its new Flatron IPS236V a slab 23 inches IPS technology (In Plane Switching), much better.These slabs are usually much more expensive than TN (Twisted Nematic), but LG has managed to integrate them without increasing the price of its monitors. A feat that we wanted to test.



This monitor is all about the LG LCD panel. And for good reason: it is doing as a champion. It displays a contrast ratio a bit limited, certainly, but acceptable (1028:1 to default settings).That's about the only downside to this IPS panel, whose display is excellent. Without having to apply special setting, or even to calibrate the screen, our optical probe has found excellent results. The colors are very faithful, ditto for the quality of different shades of gray. In films, the color accuracy is felt particularly on skin tones.
