SandForce announces the imminent arrival on the market for a new generation of controllers for SSDs in the series SF-2000.
These new controllers SandForce SF-2000 natively support SATA 3.0 to 6 Gb / s (SATA II while he leveled to 3 Gb / s) and NAND flash memory MLC (Multi-Level Cell) EMLC (Multi company -Level Cell) and SLC (Single-Level Cell) etched into 20 nm and 30 nm.
They support a maximum capacity of 512 GB and offer a transfer rate of up to 500 MB / s read and write but only up to 60,000 IOPS. Data encryption may be provided by the AES 128/256 bit and ECC data correction is also present as interfaces Asynch, and ONFi2 Toggle Flash.
While the FS-2300 is intended for industrial storage solutions, and the SF-2500 SF-2600 are the ones designed for the SSD targeting businesses. For now, no controller SandForce SF-2000 is announced to the public but probably not soon.
For his part, OCZ announces first SSD-equipped controller SF-2500/SF-2600: the Deneva.
Designed for the professional world, they are planned for version 1.8-inch, 2.5 inch and 3.5 inch format, as well as SATA 3.0. OCZ says that these new SSDs offer transfer rates of 500 Mb / s and 60,000 IOPS with 4KB data protection program.
The first copies of the new OCZ Deneva will be delivered to potential customers during the fourth quarter of 2010 and will be mass produced from the first quarter of 2011.
