Default Buy a Garmin Nuvi and updates for life

    Hello

I want to buy a first unit with little knowledge in this area except the course of a few topics.

    These are my few criteria:

    - Garmin for free updates

    - Maps France and Europe eventually

    - Budget: EUR 200, possibly redefine

I thought the Garmin Nuvi to 1340, however, both on different forums, the site of the retailer or the manufacturer's site, I found no clear indication on what they call the updates "for life" :

    - The manufacturer says "for the life of the device," which means the warranty period? or operating time (even beyond the warranty?

    - Free updates seem valid as Navteq provides maps to Garmin, namely juqu'en 2015, and therefore in case of non-renewal of contract, more updates?

    - Garmin updates come out with a frequency of 4 per year maximum, we expect not to have AJ for 2 years?

    - Assuming that I can enjoy a free upgrade, that I make, is it-I can do it again another free upgrade when the next update release, and what limits (duration in years or number of updates)?

From what I understand, you can receive free updates in the following conditions:

    - The GPS model is compatible with this free service

    - I possess the technical prerequisites: Internet connection, PC Windows XP

    - Navteq renews contract with Garmin after 2015

    - Navteq does not go bankrupt

    - Garmin does not go bankrupt

Do I have good or otherwise, can someone articulate (without trade jargon) these conditions, history of being there?

    Thank you!

Currently for 20 € Garmin offers update to life if you buy a GPS, you must choose between 4 models.

I have the nuvi 765T (200 € in wind flash) which amounts to 220E to have the card life.

Tomtom is a stew, Garmin is another stew with an algorithm and any rotten plant in addition to the opportunity and what you call "best" is certainly a more altre stew.

And what is more your dear igo8?
It calculates sensible route instead of looking blandly small roads like TomTom and Garmin?

Your thing has at least for him to have a SiRFAtlasIV, apart from that I doubt he is better than others. Already there by way of a postage stamp screen.

My beautiful Nuvi, off again to the store. What crap?

I am camping operator and I drive often and often in a small area like the Dordogne, so here I can tell you that TomTom Dordogne almost fly out the window so the quality of its routes are crap.

I had my medion pna 460 the ability to have multiple apps on the same machine so I turned and put TomTom and Garmin patatra lol same crap in the same region and with igo8 nickel and its beautiful roads in such all France.

Your video shows exactly the type of road that made me TomTom in Dordogne. More with a camper I will not say hey if you come across someone.

I know that but also better, with a heavy. But hey, it's not the limit GPS fault.
Still, the GPS did not know what happen anywhere, even if the road is anything but a road. The problem stems from the fact that the maps are more complete with small roads that were not counted before and these idiots believe that device will automatically roll to 90 km / h. Even TomTom IQ Route and cardboard.

To receive the chips starts to improve, which equips the Takara your link is the best of times. They still have to work on their maps for the GPS to know the difference between road and trail rabbits.

There's still a point on which Garmin is very much better than TomTom, it's for the cup. The TomTom is a shit and that the Garmin is more practical to ask and it shall never fall.
You never know, it could be a turning point for anyone who wants TomTom or Garmin.

I had used a Garmin and TomTom and now a GPS under Windows CE with Igo. I find that the suction cups hold better than TomTom Garmin but it should depend on models.

    What else?
Nothing more constructive and interesting to move the topic? You seem to be an expert in CUs, you could not teach us a bit?
