Thread: SkyDrift - Luftikuss in racing fever

As mentioned briefly in theintroduction, SkyDrift is an arcade style racing game with aircraft.You take in one of eight machines with slightly different handlingand resting place in three racing series for the win. Power Race isstrong in arcade racers like Mario Kart ajar. Which means: Youcollect powerups such as missiles, mines or protective shields, andcan thus bring the competitors from the sky or when required toprotect against enemy fire.

Each item can be enhanced by it picksup a second time. And once you go there not fast enough, you canreplace the power-ups at any time against a corresponding boost inspeed. Quite similar works the Survivor mode, only here the lastplaced regularly flies out of the race, until only one remainsvictorious pilot. Finally, the items in the speed race fall flat,instead, hang around in the air acceleration rings. Now before youget the big yawn: The mode is not a barren checkpoint races butscrewed the already very successful in the sense of speed evenfurther heights.



Without their hearty brake deposits isstill not make ends meet. Tight hairpin curves, narrow passages andthe odd nasty obstacle (towards the end of each race overthrowvarious levels in the parts together!) Require your reflexes and thewell-measured use of the brake. After the first few minutes we havenoticed: There is a serious difference if you get a race time not onasphalt but is discharged at a dizzy height. Arcade controlsnotwithstanding, gamers with a good feeling for airplane games have aclear advantage. All others should plan some practice races,especially if you dive into the multiplayer mode.
