Microsoft made an effort communication towards PC gamers by promising to invest in securities to be of interest to players equipped with very large configs. A re-engagement around the PC game clearly abandoned by Microsoft for several years despite several unsuccessful attempts as the Games for Windows Live label created to give more visibility to this market segment. A label which suffered another blow because, as many publishers, THQ has announced that he was preparing to abandon the Microsoft platform to stay only through Steam.
Gas plant if any, it must be said that the overlayer Games for Windows Live has never been very convenient for the player, especially at THQ, where titles like Warhammer: Dawn of War II imposed the more Steam.
It will not be the case as THQ has decided to do without in the future, starting with its upcoming titles around the Warhammer 40K. THQ, which had been one of the first third-party vendors to follow Microsoft in its Games for Windows Live policy, endorsing the ideology introduced by Microsoft with Xbox Live.
Most worrying for Games for Windows Live is probably to learn that THQ justifies this change in policy by explaining that the abandonment of the platform is a recurring request from the gaming community. "We will be able to fully benefit from the services that are widely used steam among PC gamers.
