RedLynx, the Finnish development studio that made his name with his excellent Trials, has been bought by the French Ubisoft. If the terms of the agreement were not disclosed,Yves Guillemot, CEO of the editor, suggested that UBS has the ambition to create something quite ambitious Trials around the brand,which may include based on two million downloads on Xbox Live Arcade.
"The team at RedLynx has developeda very strong brand without relying on traditional distribution channels. They walk with Steam, Xbox Live, and succeeded thanks tothe quality of their games, betting on sales in the long-term andmulti-platform positioning. We hope to help them continue along the same lines to offer their games based on a physical precision of players ever, "said Yves Guillemot.
Tero Virtala, CEO of RedLynx, replied:" We were attracted by Ubisoft because they speak of creativity and quality, as well as a long-term strategy in the markets of the traditional game and dematerialized.
