The dispute between the developer CDProjekt RED and Namco Bandai to release the Xbox 360 version of theRPG The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings is over. As one court has heldin France recently, the publisher must allow the developer NamcoBandai within 15 days to get a new distribution agreement. Should CDProjekt RED fails to comply with this court order, they need each daythat passes after this period, 15,000 € to pay a fine.

Already in August this year there was asimilar decision in court of first instance. The distribution rightsfor the Xbox 360 version, which is currently still in development, was recently awarded to THQ. Namco Bandai sees this as a clear breachof contract, the company also demanded the distribution rights forthe Xbox 360 version of The Witcher 2 in Europe. The court in Lyonwas then given legal Namco Bandai.

Looks like the new distributionagreements and the impact of litigation on the release of The Witcher2 will have, is currently not yet known.
