The future PlayStation 3 motion manager will not now be an extra gaming tangential, but a "platform product" that will have a range of applications, says Sony Worldwide Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida.
"We are yet in the very untimely days of action control growth," Yoshida told Gamasutra as piece of a larger meeting. The Sony expert obtained the reins of SCE Worldwide Studios from former skull Phil Harrison in May previous year.
"We have contained talks with company management where we argued whether we should come near [the motion manager] as a tangential or a platform, and we concur that this has enormous potential -- so we place this as a hardware platform," he said.
