The UIVVISV makes a good first impression with its spun-metal content, which feels sturdy and has a nice texture to it. ASUS opted for a hinge-forward style, same to Dell's latest Inspiron and XPS lines. This aesthetic enables you to tilt the display back further when you are in cramped quarters, such as on an airplane.
The deck of the UIVVISV is aluminum with a brushed-metal apperances, while the palm rest is a silver plastic with a ridged pattern that's same to the content.
The bottom of the UIVVISV is high effect plastic with a textured finish. A beefy cell hangs below the relife of the system, which has a line of rubber running across it to prevent slippage on a desk. Overall, this laptop feels hard, but we noticed some creaking on the right side near the optical machine.
The 14” LED panel on the ASUS UIVVISV discounts the similar result as its competition (1366 x 768), but it's one of the brightest display in its level.
When ultized an AEMC light meter, we measured an average lux reading of 233. That's higher than the Inspiron 14z (194 lux) and away above the Gateway ID47 (153 lux) and (144 lux). Sure enough, we had no trouble reading the screen next to a window during a bus ride.
When see the HD test for mission not possible IV we could easy create out the stubble on Tom Cruise's scary-serious face, and we did not observe any artifacts as he proceeding away from an exploding Kremlin. Despite few glare, showing angles were pretty rate, but we had to complete the screen return to acquire the excellent vertical place.
