OCZ announced a more powerful version of its SSD with SATA 3 Vertex 3, 3 Max Vertex IOPS which as the name suggests offer a number of higher IOPS.

Remember, the IOPS are the number of operations per second - in writing as in reading - that is capable of performing a hard drive or SSD.

The new Vertex 3 Max IOPS SSD OCZ integrate a controller SandForce SF-2200 (SF-2281).Designed based on flash memory MLC (Multi-Level Cell) engraved in 34nm (25nm cons for Vertex 3), they provide 75 000 OPS in writing 4 KB (cons 60 000 IOPS for Vertex 3), at least for the version 120 GB while the 240 GB model should be "content" of 65,000 IOPS.

The rest are advertised maximum speeds of 550 MB / s read and 500MB / s write, support for the TRIM and RAID, SATA 3.0 connectivity (6 Gb / s), consumption of 2W in operation and of 0.5W at rest, a shock resistance of 1500G, an access time of 0.1ms, a MTBF of 2 million hours and a 3 year warranty and weighs 77 grams and dimensions of 99.8 x 69.63 x 9.3 mm.
