We had reviewed a couple of Kingston SDHC cards in our October 2007 issue. What was absent then were the microSD and miniSD SDHC cards, even though devices such as N95 that can use them were present. Now, Sandisk has released a microSDHC card with 8 GB storage and couples it with a cute little card reader.
The SDHC card is the same size as a normal microSD card, and slides into the reader easily. The card reader is sleek and its small size makes it a perfect partner to the microSDHC card.

As this is one of the first SDHC compatible card readers available, we used it for the benchmarks. In the HD Tach as well as Everest benchmark, it gave a transfer speed of 13.3 MB/s which is way above what Kingston SDHC cards gave earlier (8-10 MB/s). Perhaps the only issue is the small size of the reader. Since the card sits
flush, it becomes difficult to pull it out due to its size. (Although those with long fingernails need not worry.) With more and more devices becoming SDHC compatible, this little card and reader combo is quite a treat for storage-hungry consumers.
