Anagrammatic, word-searches, crossword puzzles, word wheels – you name the word game and I have may be played one or two of them already now. I do love the vernacular puzzle but because I play too many I do have high expectations for them to meet. I’m most delighted to say that Word Ball comfortably hits the mark to sit beside what is a grand and growing collection of iOS word games.
In Word Ball, balls noticed on letters bounce and clash throughout the display. At 1st they begin off slow, creating it easy to touch them and put them into words. Scoring is same to scribble, with less common letters the extreme valuable. Like the game becomes on the letters bounce about more viciously, creating it more difficult to touch them.
Even complicating things is what happens to the letters which are ignored. Their balls acquire smaller and smaller, and the more they clash into bigger balls the more likely they are to completely evaporate and be removed from the game, this making it imperative to hold an eye on all the available letters when making words out of the obscure ones as well as the common ones. Believe me, when you achieve the advanced levels those letters bounce about as ranters at midnight.
In Classic and Frenzy mode, the game starts with 26 letters and finishes when all elaborate – in Frenzy the balls shrink at a faster rate. My personal favorite is dash way, although, in which 9 random letters look in every level. Rather than having the complete dictionary at my disposal like with the other two ways, Sprint Mode forces me to focus on the few letters available and is immediately challenging and interesting, and more enjoyably unpredictable as I wind up through the levels with increasing points totals and ball speeds.
It’s a distinct challenge to attempt and work out everything of the available words as quickly as possible and earlier all the balls burst each other, and it’s deliciously frustrating when they bounce too quickly that I can’t also click them earlier they burst.
Another style, Word Ball is other word game which nowadays a fairly easy mechanic but executes it extremely good, in its case with medals to collect and Open Feint for rankings. It would be great to see some more modes, but it’s managed to hold me coming for more all the same and that’s a strong achievement when I have so many word games vying for my attention.
