The genre of physics puzzler has moreor less prevailed the mobile gaming market always since Angry Birdshit the AppStore rear in 2009. Since then, there have been manyvariations on the genre, and also what could be termed “Angry BirdsClones”.
Greedy Penguins is one such version, and one that handles to create it’s game play decidedly unique fromthe Angry Birds franchise. Like with most puzzle games past andpresent, the story is thin at best. The basic idea is you require tofeed every penguin their favorite fish, after which they free a pinkice-cream cone, which you then tap to deliver to the walrus, pig, orother random animal lazing about somewhere.
I do not experience why you do this, orif it creates any sense whatsoever, but you do not play this game tolearn about penguins, the human condition, or grow as a person… youplay this game to excercise your brain, pit your wits versus thegame’s creators, and to pass the time. And it definitely comesthrough in that endeavor.
Each puzzle supports you with a numberof different colored fish, hanging separately inropey-net-type-things, and dares you to deliver those fish to theircorresponding color penguins. You have to roll them about the levelup and down ramps, hurl them throughout the display using cannons, and ignore allowing them roll into the ocean under.
The controls are nice and simple. Forthe most part, you are tapping on fish to relase them from theirnets, allowing them drop, slide or fly into the gaping mouths of thegreedy penguins. Like you progress via the stages more obstacles andgadgets are presented , calling with you to put more thought into thesetup and ordering of your actions to best attain your goal.
Once a penguin receives their fish, they dive into the water, allowing you send along the next fish toreach other penguins. Send the wrong fish to the wrong penguin, stilland it will… create him “ill”, and you will fail the level.More with that later.
