The LG Voyager is one of the most eagerly awaited phones of the year. So we were excited to not just spot it at Mobile Asia but also to get our hands on it for a short while. On the first glance, it appears to be a touchscreen device with no physical keypad. However, it houses a full-fledged QWERTY keypad hidden below the upper panel. The Voyager is a folder phone, just like the okia E90 (the Communicator) but there the similarity ends. The upper panel of the Voyager is a complete touchscreen with dedicated icons that responded well to our fingers, although a stylus is added to the device.

The two keys at the bottom of the screen gelled well with the black colour of the phone. But opening the folder was a bit disappointing because the screen was smaller than what we had expected. Even the QWERTY keypad was not the conventional one, with some keys placed in unusual locations, making it uncomfortable to use. As for navigation, we were unable to try it out. It seems the license of the relevant software was due for renewal. Of course, that has not stopped us from hoping that the device will come to India.
