The One X Plus has HTC pimped his model One X: processor the battery and the front camera has been improved. The smartphone also runs with Android 4.1 and a new Sense UI. Whether these improvements justify the high price reflects our detailed test.

The predecessor to the HTC X Plus One the One X was one of the first smartphone with a Tegra 3 processor. The One X Plus continues to focus on this SoC, however has a more powerful version. This approach is used throughout the whole concept of the X Plus One much has been retained some improved.

The screen of the One X Plus is protected by Gorilla Glass 2 from Corning. The display has good contrast and shows warm colors. Compared to the screen of the Samsung Galaxy S3 in its default colors appear at the One X Plus smoother and more natural.

The high pixel density screen contents are displayed sharply, individual pixels are barely noticeable to the naked eye. Even tiny details such as very small font has little pixelated edges. Although the display of the X Plus One in this respect is not very different from the screen of the Galaxy S3 it has a total of a little smoother and more balanced.

Instead of a clocked at 1.5 GHz Tegra 3 processor inside the working One X plus a Tegra 3 Plus, which has a clock rate of 1.7 GHz. The new processor has the internal identification instead of AP37 AP33. In addition to the overclocking of the GPU at the One X Plus increases and the memory accesses have been accelerated. One is the X Plus is available with 32 and 64 GB of internal memory, the amount of RAM is 1 GB as its predecessor. A slot for memory cards of the users even when X Plus One looks in vain.

The smartphone supports quad band GSM and GPRS, Edge and UMTS on the frequencies 850, 900, 1,900 and 2,100 MHz. Wi-Fi is supported by 802.11a/b/g/n, the smartphone radioed to say both at 2.4 and at 5 GHz. Bluetooth is in version 4.0, an NFC module and a GPS chip with compass function are built. The One X Plus is also DLNA compatible.

The display has been taken over from its predecessor and has a resolution of 1,280 x 720 pixels. With a screen size of 4.7 inches which gives a pixel density of 312 ppi. The Samsung Galaxy S3 has the same resolution and a larger 0.1 inch display, a slightly lower pixel density of 306 ppi. The iPhone 5 reaches 326 ppi.

The front camera of the X Plus One has 1.6 megapixels, which had one of its predecessor, X 1.3 megapixels. Videos can be recorded at a maximum resolution of 720p. The camera on the back, HTC has adopted unchanged from the One X. It has 8 megapixels, auto focus and an LED photo light. Videos can be recorded in 1080p while simultaneously recording video, photos can be taken. Although the resolution is reduced with 6 megapixels something that is functional yet practical for additional snapshots.

A BSI sensor is also in poor lighting conditions allow stable picture. The environment should even really be too dark, the flash will gradually adjusts the distance of the object to be recorded, thus preventing glare. The camera of the X Plus One has a continuous shooting mode, the touch of a button can make direct up to 99 shots in a row. By stabilizing function jerky videos can be avoided.
