The E72 is the upgrade to the Nokia E71. While the new E72 is of a more elegant professional styling the E71 would appeal to the slightly younger professional with its edgy look. There are a few subtle differences between the two including the E72's keypad being slightly larger although the space bar has been shortened and now doubles up as a switch for the 5 MP camera's LED flash. Nokia has also gone with a touch sensitive navigation system placed in the center of the five-way nav-pad. The E72 is superior to its predecessor in many ways. It runs Symbian OS 9.3 with a Series 60 (v3.2) UI on its 600 MHz ARM 11 processor. So rest assured you'll have no issues with speed. If you haven't used a touch navigation system before it'll take a little getting used to but the sensitivity can be controlled. In the audio department the E72 is well equipped and serves its purpose extremely well. The bundled handsfree comes with changeable plugs to suit your ear's size.

It tends to be a little uncomfortable with prolonged usage, although the overall tonal quality is good. For those with an active online lifestyle, Facebook, MySpace and YouTube apps are already preloaded. If you're in a Wi-Fi zone you can make use of that service or just connect to your provider's access point for EDGE/GPRS. Setting up email accounts is a piece of cake with Nokia's Email Guide. The process has been reduced to just a few clicks and the Nokia Email client works like a charm for POP3 or IMAP accounts. There are loads of features available with the E72 from 3D tones to accelerometer control for silencing incoming calls by flipping the handset over and even work related apps like a full version of QuickOffice. The battery life is brilliant. On a single charge with nominal usage we got over two full days' usage. Talk time easily ran into over 5 hours and 20 minutes on an average.
