Just when we thought the Corby family was complete, Samsung has come up with the Corby Pro. The Pro is a touch-enabled device and a slide-out QWERTY keypad is a nice addition. The focus remains the same, youth with a bent towards messaging and social networking. This Corby is comparatively thicker than the original-the slide out keypad has to be blamed. But the relief is that it makes texting or writing emails to friends more convenient. Even then, the direction pad has been replaced with 4 arrow keys, which is a bit cumbersome to use.

All touchscreen phones from Samsung come with the Touch Wiz user interface and this one is no different. But when the physical keypad is in use, the display changes from portrait to landscape mode and the Touch Wiz icon and widgets bar move to the bottom. The basic social networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, ete. remain the same with additional applications like Accu Weather, CNN Mobile, Bebo and Bloomberg. A dedicated Google icon for Search, Mail and Maps has been installed on this device. Other noteworthy changes include Wi-Fi connectivity, GPS and a 3 MP camera.
