Having a touchscreen device in this price range was a unique proposition in 2008. But in 2009 people got comfortable using such devices, which ultimately became the cash cows for many handset brands in the country. Samsung really worked well in this segment. It revamped the whole market with its two sub-brands -- Star and Corby. Aimed at the youth, the Star and Corby series were instant hits but the device that really ruled in this segment was the Samsung Star. A full touchscreen phone with a 3.Q-inch, WQVGA screen and Touch Wizv1.0 UI, gesture control, mobile blogging, not to mention the impressive multimedia suite made this phone the leading touchscreen phone in this price range.
