The RIM BlackBerry Pearl 9100 is the descendant of the unique smartphone of the same name. The Pearl 9100 can be utilized around the world and will be well-suited with GSM quad-band networks able to UMTS tri-band 3G. In terms of data transmission this phone sustains GPRS, Edge and HSDPA 1.8 to 3.6 Mbit/s. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity is also contained. The Pearl will house a detachable Li-Ion battery, a camera with LED flash and an extension slot for MicroSD/SDHC. A standard 3.5mm headphone jack has been included also. Multimedia characteristics include MPEG video playback, and support for MP3 and AAC audio files. Standard smartphone characteristics such a QWERTY keyboard, personalization, games, an organizer are contained too.
