Guide Review - Motorola V3 Review
The Motorola V3 is a technological exploit. Packing a VGA camera, a full-duplex speakerphone, a large enough color display, a good battery and long-range Bluetooth in such a thin device is hard to believe. Surprisingly enough, the keypad, made of thin layers of stainless steel, works as well as any keypad and the speakerphone was an absolute delight: One of the best I've tested so far. Loud enough to my ears and clear enough so that calling parties almost couldn't tell the difference.
The main problem was the earset's volume. So low I had to concentrate hard to hear what people were saying. But don't be scared away, I'm a little hard of hearing despite my young age. Yet, everytime I was in a noisy environment, I would have to press the phone hard on my ear and block the other ear, even at the highest setting. The Motorola V3 also crashed occasionally when starting calls, forcing me to reboot. The software was also a bit sluggish, but all these details didn't necessarily make me hate the Motorola V3. Its sleek design, excellent battery life and ease of use were good enough for me. A good-enough phone, I'd say, but not exactly a marvel. No EDGE data is a drawback in such a high class cell phone. The V3's most outstanding feature is its size and weight. The resolution and colors of the display are just average and the camera is just a VGA. Sometimes, the V3 seemed to me like yesterday's technology in tomorrow's form factor. Not bad. Not astounding.
