The ultimate consumer phone, the RAZR2 is gorgeous. It sounds great, feels like a luxury product. The RAZRZ is a big, futuristic slab of a phone: It has a cool, metallic feel and an almost comically large screen on the front. This is also one of the first phones to try to find a solution to the iPhone's big problem-that you don't always know when you've touched touch-screen buttons.

When you press the virtual music buttons on the outside of the phone, or the physical volume button on its side, the phone vibrates. That's good, and it's something that more touch screen phones should do. The flash less, 2-megapixel camera clearly needs some refining as well. It takes pictures quickly and stores them in the 427MB of built-in memory, but there's no memory card slot on this very thin phone. The white balance tended towards blue, and the pictures could have been sharper.
