If PORTABILITY IS your primary concern, this miniature player will grab you. It's easily the smallest here, but still boasts a 2.sinch screen for video viewing. Our sample has 4GB of storage, but there are also 8GB, 16GB and 32GB versions available though the last costs a whopping Rs 18,000. Whichever you choose, you can expand the memory via the Zen's SD card slot. The Zen's clear and easy to use menu system is among the best here. The controls are found to the right-hand side of the screen, and while they look confusing, a quick fiddle around with them shows them to be incredibly intuitive and responsive.
The suite of PC software that comes wi th the Zen allows you to re-format pretty much any video file into something viewable, and quickly too. It's well worth doing because, while the Zen is small, the screen is very clear, and relatively blur-free. Sonically, it's none 100 shabby either, with MP3S delivered with as much care and attention as the My Name is Earl soundtrack. Okay, so the actual screen is a tad small for long vewing sessions, but as an MP3 player that also allows Outowatch the occasi mal half-hour TV show, the Zen offers excellent value for money.
